Trending Tickers: $ACLX Buyout, $CLVT Unit Sale Talks, $FRMI Texas Permit

This week, several stocks caught investors’ attention, driven by significant developments and market momentum. Here’s the breakdown of this week’s trending stocks:
Arcellx ($ACLX) to Be Acquired by Gilead Sciences
Gilead Sciences announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Arcellx ($ACLX) in a deal valued at approximately $7.8 billion.
Under the terms of the agreement, Arcellx shareholders will receive:
- $115 per share in cash at closing
- One contingent value right (CVR) worth up to $5 per share if certain future sales milestones are achieved
The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and shareholder tender conditions.
Arcellx’s lead asset, anito-cel, is an investigational CAR-T cell therapy for patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.
According to Gilead, anito-cel has shown deep and durable responses in clinical studies with a manageable safety profile. The FDA has accepted the Biologics License Application (BLA) for anito-cel as a fourth-line treatment, with a decision expected by December 23, 2026.
Gilead and Arcellx have been collaborating on the therapy since 2022. With this acquisition, Gilead will gain full control of anito-cel, eliminating future profit-sharing, milestone payments and royalties tied to the prior partnership.
Beyond anito-cel, Arcellx also developed a proprietary “D-Domain” CAR technology platform, which Gilead believes could support next-generation cell therapies.
Gilead stated that, if approved, the acquisition is expected to become accretive to earnings beginning in 2028.
Stock Price Reaction
$ACLX shares surged 77%, finishing the day near the announced acquisition price.
Clarivate Plc ($CLVT) Explores Sale of Life Sciences Unit
Clarivate said it is actively pursuing a sale of its Life Sciences & Healthcare segment as part of a broader strategic review.
According to the company, it has retained Morgan Stanley as financial advisor and is currently engaged in discussions with interested parties. Clarivate stated that a potential sale would allow it to sharpen its focus on its Academia & Government and Intellectual Property businesses, while using proceeds to reduce leverage and strengthen its balance sheet.
The company noted there is no assurance a transaction will be completed and does not plan to provide further updates unless appropriate.
While the earnings release included fourth-quarter and full-year 2025 results, investor attention centered primarily on the potential divestiture of the Life Sciences unit.
Stock Price Reaction
$CLVT shares surged nearly 40% following the announcement of the potential sale.
Fermi Inc. ($FRMI) Secures Final Air Permit in Texas for Power Project
Fermi announced that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has granted final approval of a 6-gigawatt Clean Air Permit for natural gas-based power generation at its 11-GW Project Matador campus in Amarillo, Texas.
According to the company, this approval represents one of the largest air permits issued in the United States and clears a major regulatory hurdle for construction of what it describes as the world’s largest private power grid.
With the permit secured, Fermi America said it can now move into the vertical construction phase of power generation. The company has already contractually secured more than 2 GW of long lead-time natural gas generation assets, including Siemens Energy SGT-800 gas turbines currently located at the Port of Houston and expected to be mobilized to the site.
Project Matador is designed as a behind-the-meter private grid, meaning it is intended to serve large-scale customers such as AI and industrial operators without drawing power from the public grid. According to the company, this model aims to preserve grid reliability and avoid passing costs to Texas consumers and small businesses.
The permit followed technical review, emissions modeling and a public comment process. Final issuance confirms compliance with Texas law and the federal Clean Air Act, according to the company.
Fermi America stated that, following additional analysis, the campus could ultimately support up to 11 GW of natural gas generation as demand from AI infrastructure and advanced manufacturing continues to grow.
Stock Price Reaction
$FRMI shares jumped approximately 17% following the announcement.
