Bitdeer Technologies ($BTDR) Signs $4.7 Billion AI Data Center Lease
Bitdeer Technologies ($BTDR), a Singapore-based AI cloud service and data center infrastructure provider, announced that it has signed a 16-year colocation lease with Volta, an AI infrastructure platform, to supply computing capacity from a new data center campus in Tydal, Norway.
According to the company, the agreement is worth approximately $4.7 billion in contracted revenue over the initial 16-year term, with the potential to reach $8.0 billion if an 8-year renewal option is exercised. The site’s end customer is described as a leading AI lab, with Dell Technologies serving as technology provider and the facility running on NVIDIA GPUs.
The Tydal campus will deliver 121 megawatts of computing capacity, built out in two phases targeted for completion in December 2026 and March 2027. The company said the facility will run entirely on renewable hydropower and is expected to be among the most energy-efficient AI data centers in Norway.
Bitdeer said Volta’s payment obligations will be backed by roughly $1.3 billion in letters of credit arranged by J.P. Morgan and another major financial institution, adding a layer of financial security to the long-term deal. The company added that it plans to raise additional debt financing to help cover the project’s remaining buildout costs, estimated at about $500 million.

According to the company, the buyer will assume nearly all of Gran Tierra’s outstanding debt and liabilities as part of the deal, leaving Gran Tierra debt-free with strong cash reserves once the transaction closes. The company said it expects to receive approximately $315 million in net cash proceeds, including about $250 million at closing and the remaining $65 million paid out within a year.
The company said a portion of those proceeds is expected to fund a share buyback for stockholders, with the rest going toward growth projects in Canada and Azerbaijan, where Gran Tierra holds exploration rights. Gran Tierra estimated its remaining business would be worth about $12.49 per share, which it said represents an 83% premium to its recent average trading price.
The deal still needs approval from Gran Tierra’s stockholders and regulators in Colombia and Ecuador, and the company said it is targeting a close around the end of 2026.

Under the contract, Rocket Lab will build, launch, and operate a fleet of “Flatellites,” a next-generation flat satellite design suited for large constellations, equipped with sensors and high-speed communication links. The company said the satellites will launch aboard its upcoming Neutron rocket and will feed tracking data directly to the Space Force. The contract also includes an option for additional satellites beyond the initial award.
