Calumet ($CLMT) Signs Major Aviation Fuel Deal with World Energy
Calumet, Inc. ($CLMT), a specialty products and renewable fuels company, announced that its subsidiary Montana Renewables (MRL) has entered into a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) agreement with World Energy Clean Fuels LLC. The deal is expected to deliver more than 70 million gallons of SAF to the market over three years.
Sustainable Aviation Fuel is a lower-carbon alternative to conventional jet fuel, produced from renewable sources like plant-based oils and waste fats. It is designed to meet the same safety and performance standards as regular jet fuel while reducing carbon emissions. According to the companies, the agreement could reduce as much as 600,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions over the life of the deal.
Montana Renewables is one of the largest SAF producers in North America and is currently expanding its production capacity through a project called MaxSAF 150. World Energy, which has been in the advanced bioenergy business for over three decades, is described as the world’s first commercial-scale SAF producer. The company works with corporate clients across industries including aviation, tech, and finance to help meet their emissions reduction goals.
According to the company, MRL’s MaxSAF expansion project is progressing rapidly and is expected to begin delivering economic benefits to the region’s farmers, ranchers, and energy-related economy in spring 2026. World Energy’s long-term contract helps support the significant capital investments MRL is making to scale up SAF production.
The deal also ties into the broader carbon insets market, where corporate clients can acquire environmental credits from SAF to offset emissions across their global aviation operations. The company stated that the collaboration will accelerate SAF and emissions credit supplies to meet growing demand for clean, domestically produced fuel.

Sysco ($SYY) Acquires Jetro Restaurant Depot for $29 Billion
Sysco Corporation ($SYY), a foodservice distributor in the United States, announced a definitive agreement to acquire Jetro Restaurant Depot in a deal valued at approximately $29.1 billion. The acquisition would bring 166 cash-and-carry warehouse locations across 35 states into Sysco’s network.
Jetro Restaurant Depot operates a wholesale model where customers pay upfront for goods like food, beverages, and takeaway containers. The company generated about $16 billion in revenue and $2.1 billion in EBITDA in 2025. According to Sysco, the combined company would approach nearly $100 billion in net revenue.

The company reaffirmed its fiscal 2026 guidance, projecting sales growth of 3% to 5% and adjusted earnings per share at the high end of $4.50 to $4.60. Sysco said it expects the deal to boost earnings per share by a mid- to high-single-digit percentage in the first year after closing, which it expects by the third quarter of fiscal 2027.

Intel ($INTC) Buys Back Ireland Fab Stake From Apollo for $14.2 Billion
Intel Corporation ($INTC), a semiconductor designer and manufacturer, announced a definitive agreement to repurchase the 49% equity interest in its Fab 34 manufacturing facility in Ireland from Apollo Global Management for $14.2 billion.
In 2024, Apollo-managed funds had acquired the 49% stake for $11.2 billion at a time when Intel needed capital to fund its advanced manufacturing buildout. According to the company, the original deal provided significant financial flexibility and allowed Intel to accelerate development of its Intel 4, Intel 3, and Intel 18A process technologies.
Intel said it plans to fund the repurchase through cash on hand and approximately $6.5 billion in new debt. The company expects the transaction to be accretive to ongoing earnings per share and to strengthen its credit profile in 2027 and beyond. Intel also stated it still plans to retire debt maturities as they come due in 2026 and 2027.
Fab 34, located in Leixlip near Dublin, is a high-volume facility that produces chips using Intel 4 and Intel 3 process technologies, including Intel Core Ultra and Intel Xeon 6 processors. The company said Ireland remains central to its global manufacturing footprint and future product roadmap.
According to Intel CFO David Zinsner, the company now has a stronger balance sheet, improved financial discipline, and an evolved business strategy compared to when the original stake sale took place. The deal signals Intel’s confidence in its turnaround under CEO Lip-Bu Tan, who has been leading a restructuring effort focused on cost reductions and sharpening the company’s AI-related manufacturing capabilities.
