Trending Tickers: $GLW Manufacturing Deal, $EBAY GameStop Rejection, $AUR Autonomous Freight

This week, several stocks caught investors’ attention, driven by significant developments and market momentum. Here’s the breakdown of this week’s trending stocks:
Corning ($GLW) to Expand U.S. Optical Manufacturing in NVIDIA Partnership
Corning ($GLW), a leading innovator in materials science and optical fiber technology, announced a multiyear commercial and technology partnership with NVIDIA to dramatically expand its U.S.-based manufacturing of optical connectivity solutions for AI infrastructure.
According to the company, Corning will increase its domestic optical connectivity manufacturing capacity by 10x and grow its U.S. fiber production capacity by more than 50% to meet rising demand driven by AI data center buildouts. The expansion includes the construction of three new advanced manufacturing facilities in North Carolina and Texas and the creation of more than 3,000 new American jobs.
Corning’s expanded capacity will supply the optical fiber and connectivity solutions that hyperscale data centers need to deploy NVIDIA-powered computing at scale. The company said that as AI workloads require thousands of GPUs operating in tandem, the demand for high-performance optical fiber and photonics to move data at speed has grown significantly.
Corning, which invented low-loss optical fiber and holds a leading position in glass science and optical physics, said it is well-positioned to meet this demand. According to the company, the partnership supports broader efforts to ensure that critical AI infrastructure components are manufactured domestically.

eBay ($EBAY) Board Rejects Unsolicited Takeover Bid from GameStop
eBay ($EBAY), a global e-commerce marketplace connecting millions of buyers and sellers across more than 190 markets, announced that its Board of Directors has formally rejected an unsolicited, non-binding acquisition proposal from GameStop.
In a letter addressed to GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen, eBay’s Board called the proposal neither credible nor attractive. According to the company, the Board’s decision took into account several factors, including eBay’s standalone growth prospects, uncertainty around GameStop’s financing plan, the operational risks of combining the two businesses, and concerns about the leadership structure and governance of a potential merged entity.
eBay’s Board stated that the company has sharpened its strategic focus in recent years, strengthened its marketplace and seller experience, and consistently returned capital to shareholders. The company said it remains confident that its current management team is well-positioned to continue driving sustainable growth and long-term shareholder value without pursuing the deal.
According to the company, eBay enabled nearly $80 billion in gross merchandise volume in 2025, underscoring the scale and resilience of its existing business as it moves forward independently.

Aurora Innovation ($AUR) Powers First Commercial Autonomous Freight Haul in Texas
Aurora Innovation ($AUR), a self-driving technology company focused on autonomous trucking, announced that Volvo Autonomous Solutions and global logistics provider DSV have completed the first commercial freight haul in Texas using the Volvo VNL Autonomous truck, which is powered by the Aurora Driver — Aurora’s self-driving software system.
The initial operations run between Aurora’s terminals in Dallas and Houston, integrating into DSV’s existing logistics network. According to the company, a safety driver will be present in the vehicle during this early phase, with plans to expand to additional routes over time as operational experience grows.
The Volvo VNL Autonomous is part of Volvo’s Autona/freight solution, an end-to-end autonomous transport setup that combines the truck itself with self-driving technology from Aurora, along with the fleet management and operational systems needed to run autonomous freight at scale. According to the company, Volvo Autonomous Solutions has logged more than one million miles in regional and local freight operations since 2023.
The companies said the collaboration is designed to address real logistics challenges, including a growing truck driver shortage, and to enable round-the-clock freight operations that improve asset utilization and supply chain efficiency for DSV’s customers.
