IREN

This week, several stocks caught investors’ attention, driven by significant developments and market momentum. Here’s the breakdown of this week’s trending stocks:

IREN ($IREN) Signs $2.8 Billion in New AI Cloud Contracts

IREN ($IREN), a vertically integrated AI Cloud provider that builds large-scale data centers and compute infrastructure for AI training and inference, announced that it signed $2.8 billion in new multi-year cloud services contracts with leading AI developers.

According to the company, the new agreements pushed its year-end 2026 annualized revenue target above $4 billion, up from a prior target of $3.7 billion, with about 85% of that figure now under contract.

IREN’s customer base includes Microsoft, NVIDIA, Perplexity, Figure AI, Together AI, Fluidstack, Fireworks AI, Fal AI, Hume AI, and one additional AI developer the company did not name. The company said many of the new contracts include upfront customer payments covering roughly 45% of the associated equipment costs, which lowers how much outside funding IREN needs for those buildouts.

The company also said its contracts now run about four years on average, and that it held approximately $7.6 billion in cash as of June 30, 2026. IREN said demand from hyperscalers, enterprises, and AI labs continues to exceed its available capacity heading into 2027.

IREN noted its self-built AI Cloud capacity has grown from about 3 megawatts a year ago to 480 megawatts this year, with a target of 1.2 gigawatts by 2027.

Stock Price Reaction
$IREN shares jumped about 20% following the announcement.

Archer Aviation ($ACHR) and Anduril Unveil Joint Autonomous VTOL Aircraft Platform

Archer Aviation ($ACHR), a company developing electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, announced that it partnered with defense technology company Anduril to unveil a jointly developed autonomous VTOL aircraft platform built for both commercial and defense use.

The defense version, called Thunder, is an autonomous attack rotorcraft designed to add firepower alongside crewed attack and assault aircraft, according to the companies. The same underlying aircraft design is meant to serve both military and commercial customers.

According to the company, the aircraft runs on a hybrid-electric power system paired with tiltrotors that adjust speed to improve efficiency and reduce noise. Its vertical takeoff and landing design also lets it operate from remote sites without a runway, unlike traditional helicopters, while still cruising efficiently like a fixed-wing plane.

Archer said it has already flown full-scale test versions of the aircraft, an early step toward Thunder’s first planned flight in 2027. The company also said it plans to announce its first commercial customers for the platform later this week.

Stock Price Reaction
$ACHR shares rose about 20% following the announcement.

Utz Brands ($UTZ) to Be Taken Private by Intersnack in $2.9 Billion Deal

Utz Brands ($UTZ), a U.S. manufacturer of branded salty snacks, announced that it agreed to be acquired by German snack maker Intersnack Group in a deal that will take the company private.

According to the company, Intersnack will pay $14.25 per share in cash for all outstanding Class A shares, an enterprise value of about $2.9 billion. The price is roughly 91% above Utz’s July 20, 2026 closing stock price.

As part of the deal, the Rice and Lissette family, Utz’s founders, will keep a stake in the business alongside Intersnack, with each side owning half of Utz once the transaction closes. Dylan Lissette, currently chairperson of Utz’s board, will become Executive Chair after closing.

The deal will be funded through a mix of cash from Intersnack, new debt, and rollover equity from the Rice and Lissette family, according to the companies. It is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, pending shareholder and regulatory approval, after which Utz shares will no longer trade on the NYSE.

Stock Price Reaction
$UTZ shares rose about 89% following the announcement, trading close to the agreed acquisition price.
