This week, several stocks caught investors’ attention, driven by significant developments and market momentum. Here’s the breakdown of this week’s trending stocks:

MGM Resorts ($MGM) Receives Buyout Proposal from People Inc

MGM Resorts ($MGM), one of the world’s largest hotel and casino operators, received a non-binding acquisition proposal from People Inc, a media and investment holding company formerly known as IAC, offering $48.30 per share in cash for all MGM shares it does not already own.

People Incorporated currently holds a 26.1% stake in MGM and said the offer represents a premium of roughly 24% to MGM’s 30-day volume-weighted average price and over 30% to its 90-day average, as of late May 2026. The company said it plans to fund the deal using a combination of existing cash at both companies, new debt, and outside equity investors, with People Incorporated retaining just over 50% ownership and control of MGM if the transaction closes.

According to the company, Barry Diller, Chairman and Senior Executive of People Incorporated, expressed the view that MGM’s real-world assets are difficult to disintermediate by technology and that the market has consistently undervalued the business. The proposal is non-binding and subject to negotiation of a definitive agreement, regulatory approvals, and gaming authority sign-offs.

Stock Price Reaction

$MGM shares jumped about 16% following the announcement.

Strategy ($MSTR) Sells Bitcoin for the First Time in Four Years

Strategy Inc. ($MSTR), the world’s largest corporate holder of bitcoin and the company formerly known as MicroStrategy, disclosed in a regulatory filing on June 1, 2026 that it sold 32 bitcoin between May 26 and May 31, at an average price of roughly $77,135 per coin, generating about $2.5 million in proceeds. The company said the funds were used to cover dividend distributions on its preferred stock, specifically its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock, known as STRC.

The sale is historically significant. It marks the first time Strategy has sold any bitcoin in four years. The last time the company offloaded bitcoin was near the bottom of the 2022 crypto winter, when it sold 704 coins at around $18,000. For most of its history as a bitcoin treasury company, Strategy operated under an almost religious “never sell” doctrine championed by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, who repeatedly declared that bitcoin should be accumulated indefinitely and never disposed of.

The most direct signal came from Saylor himself, who indicated a willingness to sell bitcoin to maximize shareholder value. During the Q1 2026 earnings call, both Saylor and CEO Phong Le hinted at the possibility of limited bitcoin sales to meet dividend obligations. Saylor told investors the company would “probably sell some bitcoin to pay a dividend just to inoculate the market and send the message that we did it.

Despite the philosophical shift, the actual size of the transaction was minimal. The 32 coins represent a fraction of a percent of Strategy’s total holdings of 843,706 bitcoin, acquired at an average cost of $75,699 per coin.

Stock Price Reaction

$MSTR shares dropped about 9% on the day of the announcement and fell an additional 7% the following day, reflecting investor concern over what the sale signals about Strategy’s future approach to its bitcoin treasury.

Navitas Semiconductor ($NVTS), a semiconductor company specializing in gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC) power chips used in AI data centers and energy infrastructure, announced its collaboration with NVIDIA within the MGX™ ecosystem to help accelerate the development of next-generation AI data centers running on 800-volt direct current rack architectures.

The company showcased its 800V-to-6V DC-DC power delivery board at NVIDIA’s AI Factory MGX™ Ecosystem showcase at COMPUTEX 2026 in Taipei. According to the company, the board is powered by Navitas GaNFast technology and is designed to eliminate a traditional intermediate power conversion step inside AI server racks, improving efficiency, reliability, and space utilization. The company said the board targets 97.5% peak efficiency and operates at one megahertz switching frequency, enabling a power density roughly 20% thinner than a mobile phone for close integration directly with GPU boards.

According to Navitas CEO Chris Allexandre, power delivery has become one of the most critical challenges in building next-generation gigawatt-scale AI factories, and the company’s GaN and SiC technologies are designed to help enable megawatt-scale AI server racks with higher power density and improved thermal performance.

Stock Price Reaction

$NVTS shares jumped about 19% following the announcement.
